Last Friday we had a visit from Erik Wegewijs. Erik is a speaker and enjoyed a long career with the Corps of Commandos and is known to many people from the TV program Special Forces.

Over the past few years we at Hoogendoorn have grown considerably. More colleagues, larger projects, multiple projects at the same time. That brings with it a different dynamic.

Growth is beautiful, but it also requires something of you. Of how you work together. How you handle pressure. And how you hold each other when the pressure is on.

Erik took us through themes of trust and working together under pressure. What is the difference between work pressure and workload? When is stress an adversary and when is it an ally? And how do you stay sharp without losing each other?

What may have stuck with me the most: equality and respect are not side issues. They are the foundation. For trust. For growth.
