According to SMEs, corporate sustainability is gaining momentum. How could it be otherwise? Anno 2024, we face stricter regulations, an energy crisis and a growing interest in a climate-conscious lifestyle.
Whereas in 2022 the sustainability of Dutch companies was stagnant, barely a year later it is a hot topic. Time to take you through what we are doing to make our company more sustainable. Because when we make more sustainable, we also indirectly make interiors more sustainable for ships, buildings and offshore.
A beautiful solar energy system including 1,320 solar panels was developed on the roof of our office by Devcon Ecosystems. Each solar panel has an output of 455 Wp. The plant has a total capacity of 600.6 kWp and generates about 571,700 kWh annually.
The avoided CO2 emissions are thus 317,865 kg/year. Cool right?
This is how we try to contribute to a better living environment.
In cooperation with GAIA, we ensure that our old workwear is processed, in the most sustainable way possible. The main theme of GAIA is; the practical implementation of circular concepts and systems, so that producers can develop circular products, consumers can buy them, without losing valuable components and raw materials. One way they do this is through their return logistics and the dismantling and recycling of products. GAIA makes a choice of how materials are reused after disassembly: as components or as raw material, always for new products or if too much contamination is used as secondary fuel. GAIA does not dispose of materials as waste. Workwear is turned into products such as bags, but it is also fiberized to make new yarn and cloth in part. The leather of work shoes has a new application in automotive, among others. If desired, we can even create products specifically for your business!
